The Harper's Wedding Blessing!

I had a fabulous time with the Harper family, their guests and friends earlier this year at their wedding blessing. Simon and Jo had always wanted to have a blessing after 10 years of marriage and to make it extra special, their two children, Charlotte and James were this time able to join in the jubilations!!

I have far too many favourite images from their event but have had to restrict myself to the following few. Enjoy!!

I love detail shots so thought I'd start off with a few.

Little James waits anxiously with his father and paternal grandmother for a sneak peak at his mum as she arrives at the church.

I love this image of Simon with his mother as she helps him with his tie. It's such a lovely moment as Simon glances in the direction his wife is due to arrive.

Another favourite moment of mine.

As Jo, her mother and daughter Charlotte arrived, they were welcomed by an excited and very smartly dressed young James who flew in for a quick cuddle before the ceremony.

As his family walked down the aisle towards him, Simon looked on with a tear in his eye.

The ceremony was beautiful and many tears were shed. I only just managed to keep it together myself!!

Jo wore her wedding dress from their first wedding 10 years previous and looked fabulous.

I love confetti shots. It's a chance to get something really fun and get lots of people involved and enjoying themselves. I just love all the smiles and this was a great opportunity for Charlotte and James to join in too.

The reception was held at Richings Park Golf Club and the blue bridge over the river gave us a beautiful setting for the large group shots.

Richings Park lends itself to some beautiful arches and architecture to frame my subjects. Once again, I had too many to choose from so just selected a couple of my favorites.

Charlotte and James are very close and I really wanted to capture their playful relationship on camera.

It was very clear to me throughout the day that the Harper family are very close. It really was a delight sharing in this happy day with their nearest and dearest and was so beautiful to witness all the love!!

As the sun began to set, it was time for me to leave but I really did have a lovely time.

Jo, Simon, Charlotte and James, it was a cracking day and thank you for choosing me to capture it for you!! Enjoy your images!

Billie and Ryland's Wedding - Part 3!

I really enjoyed Billie and Ryland's wedding as so much effort, care and devotion went into every part of their day. To kick off the third and final part of the Butler wedding, I've posted my favourite image from the receiving line.

I loved this image of Ryland's father hugging Billie as it just felt so welcoming and warm

Billie is especially close to her paternal grandmother and I particularly liked this natural shot of her as she sat on the top table and admired the guests enjoying themselves.

The Butler cake, in keeping with the colour theme, was pink and brown and fabulously huge!!

Beautiful centerpieces!!

Each of the favours were lovingly handmade and, once again, kept to the colour scheme. It was such a lovely personal touch.

Everyone was emotional during the sppeches...

... especially the bride! And understandably so. Three very touching speeches!!

Possibly one of the funniest (and longest) best man speeches I've heard in a while!! ;) Ryland's brother had the room in stitches!!

After the last conventional speech, Ryland's father said a few words welcoming Billie into the family. It was a very touching end to the formalities and lovely to watch.

There was a little time during the course of the evening to take a few photos next to the fireplace so we took Billie's father and grandmother for a couple of natural photographs.

After cutting the cake, the couple took to the floor for their first dance and looked into each other's eyes like there was no-one else in the room :)

And so, after a long joyful day, the party began and it was time for me to leave!

To finish, an image of the Macdonald Berystede Hotel in Ascot and the beautiful weather we witnessed on Billie and Ryland's big day. What a cracker!!

Billie and Ryland's Wedding - Part 2!

Part 2 of Billie and Ryland's wedding starts off with our lovely groom smiling away as he awaits the arrival of his beautiful bride. Ryland seemed calm and completely on top of the world - as every groom should. His huge grin was heart warming and set the tone for all to see.

I had so many images of the ceremony to choose from - from walking down the aisle all the way through to the first kiss (as can be seen below) but this was one of my favourites due to the amount of emotion on Billie's dad's face as he holds tightly to Billie's hand.

Once again, this was one of many I had to choose from but a personal favourite the way these two looked at each other just radiated the love they have for each other.

Whilst holding hands, Ryland stroked Bille's reassuringly with his thumb. This intimate gesture was lovely to watch and capture.

The first kiss. I need not say more! Beautiful!

The grounds of the Adelaide Hotel were beautiful and the weather was such that a photo opportunity on the lawn could not be missed.

Billie and Ryland's Wedding - Part 1!

Billie and Ryland got married on September 2nd at The Macdonald Berystede Hotel in Ascot . It was a beautiful day and the attention paid to every detail of the day was lovely.

I particularly love photographing details and Billie and Ryland's wedding had plenty for me to sink my teeth into. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Butler!! Enjoy part one!!

Billie's bouquet was perhaps one of the most beautiful bouquets I have ever seen!! The mixture of pale pink's was stunning and worked beautifully with the peach of Billie's dress.

I adored the lace, subtle beading and flower detailing of Billie's bridal dress.

Billie had several corsages made up for different members of the bridal party. This was groom Ryland's buttonhole.

The flower detailing on the hip of the dress separated the bodice from the train beautifully and drew attention to the exquisite dress detailing.

One of Billie's favourite details were her shoes. She delighted in telling me how excited she was about wearing them and I have to admit, they were lovely!! So, of course, photos just had to be taken!! :)

One of Billie's most beautiful features are her eyes and I couldn't resist photographing a couple of really beautiful and emotional moments between Billie and her make-up artist friend who did a cracking job if may say so!!

Billie's friends made her a beautiful keepsake pin that Billie tucked under her dress as a good luck charm with her something borrowed, something blue, something old and something new attached. Personally, I think it's such a fabulously simple idea and so very thoughtful!

I had a chance to take some portraits of Ryland too and loved the way the light filled the suite just enough create this moody image.

Here are my absolute favourite images of Billie and I just couldn't pick between them!!

Kittens Benji and Fifi!x

Sisters Becca and Katherine have two new beautiful kittens, Benji and Fifi. At only a few months old, these two were playful and fun to photograph.

As house kittens and with these two being so young, I thought it best to photograph them in their natural environment in Windsor.

Baby Austin!x

Last month, I visited 6 week baby Austin and brother Stephen at home in Watford with mum Claire. I love photographing little ones and just like his older brother Stephen, Austin's smile lights up the room.

I've chosen a few of my favourites to blog so feel free to have a look.

Stephen has a very cheeky smile but it's so infectious, you can't help but mirror it!

Austin spent most of the session wide awake but there were a couple of occasions where he dozed off for a bit and I was able to capture some lovely sleepy shots.

Those who know my photography know I particularly love the little details and photographing a baby is no exception. Everything is miniature, especially toes :)

It was beautiful to see how tenderly Stephen behaved around his new brother and I felt this image captured that beauty.

Pups Lilly and Daisy!x

Andy and Pauline have two beautiful dogs. Just over a year ago, I photographed Daisy when she was the first of the two to join the family. This shoot though was all about Lilly.

When I photographed Daisy the first time, I chose a black background for many of the photos so as to really show off her beautiful soft white fur.

Owners Pauline and Andy now have a beautiful large canvas of Daisy on their wall and booked me to create similar images of the newest addition to the family. For this reason, I used the black background.

Lily was my first client in my New Bristol based Studio and she was a just a darling to photograph.

Baby Benjamin!!x

Things have been so ridiculously crazy lately that my blog has been suffering :(

I am trying my utmost to get on top of things and post some of my latest stuff but for now, some images of baby Benjamin from last month.

I had great fun with mum Amy and baby Ben!! Amy is an old work mate and I was so excited to hear she'd become a new mum. I was lucky enough to photograph Amy and her husband Darren's wedding 3 years ago in Oxford so it was a pleasure to photograph the newest arrival to the family.

Anyway, Amy and Darren's flat had beautiful french doors that allowed the light to flood the room. It was really difficult to narrow down the images to my favourites but in the end I settled for these! Please feel free to have a look and comment if you like!! Enjoy!

When photographing babies and children, I particularly like to use available light and this was no exception to the rule.

Benjamin was such a little star and although he was awake for much of the session, I was able to get some adorable cuddled up sleepy shots.

When I go to someone's home to photograph their loved one, I like to use anything I can get my hands on to add a bit of a personal touch to their photos. Within minutes of entering Amy and Darren's, I found the above chair and fell in love!! I knew I had to use it and am quite pleased with the result!

Previous to the shoot, I had found a GIANT TEACUP and it just had to be done!!

I loved Amy and Darren's decor and just wanted to use it in the photos.

Last month, I had the pleasure of photographing Claire's baby bump. I'm happy to say that she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and I'm thoroughly looking forward to photographing newborn Austin within the next fortnight! Claire's son Stephen accompanied mum to the photo shoot and I couldn't resist getting him in front of the camera! Here are a few photos from the shoot. Enjoy!

Stephen fancied a change of get up and his cowboy outfit was the perfect opportunity for some fun shots.

S and F's Engagement Party, May 2011!

S and F celebrated their engagement with a traditional ring ceremony at the end of May. It was a lovely evening and I was very touched to be invited to document the special occasion. There were so many photos to choose from but I finally managed to get it down to these few to blog. So feel free to take a look and leave a comment.

The Ring Ceremony.

Whilst the bride-to-be received a ring from her fiancé, her gift to her groom was a new watch.

The food buffet was delicious and the array of colours were beautiful!!

One of my personal favourite shots of the bride.

A tower of cupcakes greeted the guests once dinner had finished and after a few words and cutting of one of the cupcakes, everyone was eager to tuck in. Needless to say they were a huge hit and DELICIOUS!! ;)

Krissa and Matt - March 2011!

When in St Lucia in March, we met Krissa and Matt, two enthusiasts of a rather fascinating exercise practice combining Acrobatics and Yoga by name of (wait for it) Acro-yoga!!

Having befriended the couple (I don't think they minded too much!!) and having heard about it from some of the staff at Le Sport, I arranged to meet with the couple on the beach at sunset. Altho the light disappeared quickly, I think we caught some crackers and am pleased to have finally finished working on the images so I can now blog them!!

So here are a few of my favourites.

It really was amazing to watch the way Matt was able to rotate and manipulate Krissa's body with his feet and the balance and control Krissa had over her body was fascinating. Her trust and ability to be lead by her man (which for all women is no mean feat) was incredible and I could not stop snapping away.

Just like the number of poses they kept orchestrating, I had so many images to choose from but settled eventually for these few.

Krissa and Matt, it was a pleasure and there are plenty more where these come from so will send you details as soon as I've uploaded them to your gallery.

A new business venture: FREE makeover AND photoshoot!!

My best friend has been painting faces for years. I don't mean clowns and cats and dogs oh my! I mean she has been beautifying friends and family since she could hold a lip liner!! In my opinion she is a fabulous makeup artist and I trust her eye and judgement so much that I asked her to do my makeup for the biggest day of my life last year; my wedding. As I knew she would, she did a fantastic job and has finally decided to unveil her new business venture FLAWES.

After some thought, we decided who better to be a model than Fi herself. So we set up the studio one afternoon and decided to have a little fun. Fi is not a big fan of the camera but I'm pleased to say we had a real laugh and I think she looks fabulous!! Take a look and let us know what you think.

Alisha and Andrej - Saint Lucia, March 2011 - Part 2!!

One of the great things about this couple was that they were up for anything. Despite being due to leave the Island of Saint Lucia later that day, these two were perfectly happy to run through the sea in their wedding gear!! Below are a few more of my favourite images for their shoot!

We started the shoot early in the morning so as to capture the sun as it rose and shone across the resort. I had spotted the hammock in previous passing and was itching to utilise it. Lucky for me, Alisha and Andrej were perfectly happy to give anything a go.

The blushing bride :) Alisha looking beautiful, natural and very happy to have married her prince!

Despite being horrible sunburnt on his back, Andrej was more than happy to carry his wife for the photos amidst my exclamations that it really wasn't necessary! Talk about dedicated to the cause!!

Alisha and Andrej - Saint Lucia, March 2011 - Part 1!

Some of you may be aware that I recently returned from Le Sport, The Body Holiday, in Saint Lucia, the spa and holiday resort. But it wasn't all fun and games!!

I met Alisha and Andrej properly a couple of days after they got married on the island for some photos on the beach in the glorious sunshine. It was a real laugh and a pleasure to be able to shoot with some lovely people and in such an incredible location.

The Broad Brood!!

In February I had the pleasure of photographing the fab bunch that is the Broad Family. The family met me in Eton Wick and we had a few giggles and some fun. Mum Clare, as any mother is, was conscious that her girls Emma and Lauren, were growing up rather quickly and felt she had been putting off a family portrait session for far too long. Having convinced husband Alan as well, I was very much looking forward to photographing the couple and their extremely excited girls.

As with all my portrait sessions, I like to take the time to talk to the family about what to expect so that they feel comfortable with me. It can sometimes be daunting to step in front of the camera (I should know as I'm a little camera shy myself!!) so I feel it is important to make my clients feel at ease and be aware that I am there to capture the very best of them with their loved ones.

Alike so many before them, the family soon relaxed into their roles as models and I'm really pleased with the results. Take a look for yourselves and feel free to leave a comment!

Seven month old Baby Milo!!x

The beautiful baby Milo with his brother and mum came and saw me earlier in February and with a very hectic schedule, this is the first time I've had chance to blog about him. They all came to visit me a month ago full of smiles and good spirit. Milo is such a happy baby and fabulous to photograph. Choosing the finals for his family to view was the tricky part!!

As with any baby shoot, I suggest that if there are any toys that the little one loves or that make him laugh or any props that mum and dad would like their little treasure photographed with, they bring them along. Milo was no exception. In fact, Aunty Holly had given Milo a beautiful wooden train that Milo just loved!! I've posted one image of him with it!

Mum had brought a few things and this helped to make Milo feel at ease. Both brother Ryan and Mum were on hand to keep him gurgling and giggling and this really helped to keep the atmosphere light and cheerful for the little one. Babies can be difficult to shoot if they don't feel comfortable. I'm pleased to say, I think Milo felt right at home! Take a look and feel free to comment!!

Happy new year to one and all!! We hope you've had a lovely Christmas season. Here at Emma-Louise Walton Photography it's been work, work, work of late!! So we just thought we'd drop you a line to let you know what has been keeping us so very tired up lately.

After a lot of work and many late nights, the new site is finally here and we'd love to hear what you think. We've made a few changes to the layout, have updated our galleries and have had a rebranding of sorts so please feel free to have a look round and leave us some comments.

Prices for portraits, weddings and events are readily available so if you, or someone you know has an important occassion, wedding or just fancies a family photo shoot, contact us via the website.

Sarah's Baby Bump!x

Earlier this month, the lovely Sarah asked me to photograph her baby bump. It was lots of fun and we had a real laugh. Sarah and her husband Matt are so excited about their soon-to-be new addition to the family and it was a delight to capture this monumental occasion for them so I wanted to blog a few of my favourite images.

Despite being ever so shy about her body, Sarah plucked up the courage to do some nearly-nude and nude shots.

Love this one!

Sarah is an aunt to her sister's three children and is very close to them. The family asked me to take a few images of the baby bump with her nieces and nephews. I photographed Chloe, Tommi and Kristian last year so it was lovely to work with the family once again. Below is one of my favourite photos that I felt worked really well and was a little bit different.

Carl and Annalena - Section 3!!

Carl and Annalena's reception was lots of fun. As a gift to the couple, Annalena's mother (a professional singer in Germany) sang some songs in both English and German. It was a lovely token of her love and enjoyed by all.

As can be seen by this image, Annalena and Carl thoroughly enjoyed the sing-song!

For their first dance the couple took private lessons and had a choreographed routine to the song "Night and Day" courtesy of Learn to Dance (www.want-to-dance.co.uk). It went down a storm and was a lovely surprise for their guests.

As per tradition, Annalena danced a little waltz with her father which was lovely to watch. As Annalena's parents live in Germany, it was a very emotional day for all and truly was the joining of two families despite any language barriers.

Carl and his mother also had a spin on the dancefloor.

I love this image of the couple as I feel it's another one of those moments captured when they're in their own little bubble.

I just couldn't resist posting these two images up as it was such a genuine moment between proud father and son and was just so beautiful to watch. At a time like this, I often wonder if I should photograph such a raw or intense image but having shown Carl and Annalena a slideshow of their images, Carl was really pleased I captured it which makes it all worthwhile.

Carl and Annalena - Section 2

Annalena and Carl chose navy blue as their colour theme and this was carried throughout the day. One of my favourite things was their cake (as can be seen below). Annalena didn't want the traditional fruit cake and icing and I think her cake looked smashing!!

During the ceremony, I had the privilege of standing beside the registrar with a great view of the couple as they said their vows. I felt that this image summed up the ceremony best as it was lovely to watch this couple commit themselves to one another and I think that it's best explained by their expressions.

Taking the group shots was really fun as it consisted of me speaking to the guests in both English and (with a little help from the German Bride!!) a bit of German!! It was a lovely group to work with and most enjoyable taking photos of them all. Many thanks and vielen dank!!

Such a lovely photo of the couple!

This is one of my favourite images of the couple as it was taken whilst they were having a moment together after everyone else had gone to the reception. I like to take some time with a couple after the group shots have been taken so that we can work on the photo's of just the two of them and also so that they can a have a little time to reflect on the day so far. I feel this image really captures that moment.

Carl and Annalena's Wedding!

Carl and Annalena hired me to cover their special day earlier this year and I was with them from the bride getting ready until after the first dance. It was a beautiful day and a pleasure being asked to be a part of it. I met Annalena at 8am in her room at The Warren Lodge in Shepperton and spent some time with her, her family and some of her friends. I will blog the wedding in three sections. For now, section 1. Enjoy!

Annalena wore a beautiful hairband decorated with baby's breath to match her navy blue colour theme which looked lovely with her matching jewellery.

Annalena's bouquet was made of silk flowers and was really pretty. A unique touch I felt.

The dress was beautiful and when placed on the chair looked like it had a life of it's own. I really liked this shot!

I love this photo of Annalena looking out of the window as the natural light lights up her face as she looks out to where she will shortly be saying her vows.

Back from Honeymoon and back to work!

Apologies for the delay in posts people. It's been a mad couple of months with the wedding and month-long honeymoon teaching Ballroom and Latin American dancing in the Carribean. Everything went really really well and we had a perfect day followed by the amazing opportunity of a lifetime meeting and teaching people from all over the world at St. Lucia's LeSPORT Bodyholiday resort. Thanks to the team and all those who supported our venture. We had a great time and I thought I might post an image or two from the holiday.

Matthews Family Portrait 2009

This slideshow is made up from images taken during a walk in a park with the Matthews family. Having had several conversations with the family before the shoot, it became apparent to me that this family love the outdoors and walking their dogs. For this reason, I felt I could capture them in there most natural environment by taking them out of their home and into nature. They were very pleased with their photos. As soon as I have their testimonial, I will post it on my blog and website. Thanks guys for a cracking day.
